Burnet was chaplain to Mary when she was still Princess of Orange, and became the bishop of Salisbury in 1689 under William of Orange. His political and clerical connections were first-rate, and his account of the Revolution, civil wars, and Restoration has long been considered a reliable primary source... Old armorial bookplate of William Beauchamp-Proctor at front pastedowns; Beauchamp-Proctor was 3rd Baronet and had a noted career in the British Navy: he seconded in several battles during the Napoleonic wars, and would eventually become Vice Admiral of the Blue in 1850...
